              Arbor Day

In celebration of Arbor Day which is on Thursday, Alberta Environment has provided Grade One students across Alberta with a tree seedling to take home and plant. Planting tree seedlings provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about plants and add more trees to Alberta’s landscape.

We used our 5 senses to feel the roots and seedlings. It connects directly to  the objectives ofAlberta’s Grade One Science Unit, “Needs of Animals and Plants”.

We have also been working on our Spring tree and writing our Acrostic poems
