Arbor Day
In celebration of Arbor Day which is on Thursday, Alberta Environment has provided Grade One students
across Alberta with a tree seedling to take home and plant. Planting tree seedlings
provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about plants and add more
trees to Alberta’s landscape.
We used our 5 senses to feel the roots and seedlings. It connects directly to the objectives ofAlberta’s Grade One Science Unit, “Needs of
Animals and Plants”.

We have also been working on our Spring tree and writing our Acrostic poems
Ask me about the poem that I wrote for the Spring Tree.......
