- Learning about needs of plants and animals, autumn is almost over and nature is also getting ready for winter. We studied how pumpkins grow and brought one in our class to observe and experiment with.......

using our senses to feel our pumpkin

Adan: " The stem feels rough."

Kachuol observing the shape and the scratches

Tanner: " How heavy is the pumpkin."

                                                           We wrote about our observations
                Ask me what was inside......

It was sticky, slimy and had webs. Ask me more..

We counted and estimated

                                                200...........................?

we also counted by 10's. We had 392 seeds
                                                   in our pumpkin.

We read fiction and non-fiction books and made our learning pumpkin
                                    into a Jack O Lantern

- We have been talking about feelings and how to use our words to
appropriately to express our emotions. We read the book, 'Bombaloo.'

Sometimes,
Katie is happy and sometimes she loses her temper. She uses
her feet and her fists instead of her words.

When Katie is this mad, she's just not herself.

Sometimes, she's Bombaloo.

We talked about being Bombaloo. Sometimes it is scary. Sometimes, a quiet space ,

some understanding, sharing ones feelings and empathy can calm Bombaloo down

and help her/himto feel like themselves again.

We need to STOP THINK AND MAKE A GOOD CHOICE

This warm and reassuring book is perfect for sharing with

anyone who is, sometimes

                     Bombaloo

-Ask me, when I felt Bombaloo and talk about strategies your
child can use to solve the problem

-Have a good weekend!
